Results are estimates for styling ideas
Face & Features’s tools estimate the shape of your face and features, and your coloring, from a single photo or your own answers. These results are approximate. Categories such as “oval face”, “hooded eyes” or “soft autumn” are styling conventions that help you choose haircuts, glasses, makeup and clothes. They’re not scientific or medical diagnoses, and no category is better than another.
What affects accuracy
- Camera and lens. Phone front cameras, especially at arm’s length, make features near the center of the face look larger than they are.
- Angle. Tilting or turning your head changes measured proportions. The tools check your head angle and ask you to adjust.
- Hairline and hair. Face-mapping software can’t see your hairline, so face length is estimated. You can drag the hairline marker to correct it.
- Lighting and color. Warm or cool light, shadows, filters, makeup and hair dye all change how skin, eye and hair color appear. The color tools warn about lighting and let you correct for it.
- Expressions and accessories. Smiling, squinting or wearing glasses can change eye and lip measurements.
We show what was measured and how confident each result is, so you can judge it for yourself.
Not medical or professional advice
Nothing on this site is medical, surgical, dermatological, optical or other professional advice, and it isn’t a substitute for it. Our guides may mention that a feature can have a medical cause. If you notice a new or one-sided change in your face or eyes (for example, an eyelid that has started to droop, eyes that look more sunken or more prominent than before, swelling, pain, or changes in vision), please see a doctor or eye care professional.
Any mention of cosmetic procedures is for general information only. We don’t recommend or endorse any procedure, product, clinic or practitioner.
