About us
Face & Features is a free collection of tools and guides that help you understand your face shape, eye shape, nose and lip shape, and the colors that suit you, so you can make easier choices about haircuts, glasses, makeup and clothes.
Who we are
Face & Features is run by Umair Amjad, a designer who started out on a beauty and wellness app and now runs Agentis HQ, an AI automation agency.
Umair began as a designer, and one of the first products Umair designed was a beauty and wellness app. Designing it meant working through the questions people bring to beauty tools: what suits my face, which frames, which colors, and how do I even tell? Today Umair runs Agentis HQ, an agency that helps businesses put AI to work in their daily operations.
Face & Features brings those two sides together. The design side shapes the guides and illustrations: a plain answer first, practical styling options and body-neutral advice. The AI side shapes the tools: the face analysis runs entirely in your browser, using an open-source face model and rules published on the How it works page, so your photo never has to go to a server.
We started this site because most face shape and color tools either upload your photo to a server, hide results behind a payment, or turn a styling question into a score about how you look. We wanted the opposite: free, private and useful. You can find Umair on LinkedIn.
What we believe
- Your photo is yours. Every tool runs on your own device. Photos are never uploaded, stored or shared. The How it works page explains exactly what happens.
- No face is better than another. We describe features so you can style them. We never rate attractiveness, and we don’t link facial features to ethnicity or nationality.
- Honest results. Face analysis from a single photo is an estimate. Camera lenses, angles, lighting and hair all affect it, so we show you what was measured, let you correct it, and tell you how confident the result is.
- Free, with no sign-up. Nothing is paywalled and you never need an account.
How the tools are built
The tools use Google’s open-source MediaPipe face landmark model, running in your browser, to place reference points on your face. Everything after that is our own work: the measurements, the rules that turn them into a result, and the explanations. The rules are written down in plain language on the How it works page, including their limits, so you can see why you got a result instead of taking it on trust.
How we write our guides
- Written for one topic. Each guide covers a single shape or look, built around the questions people actually ask about it. We don’t publish near-identical pages.
- Sourced. Where a guide makes a claim about anatomy or health, it links to reputable sources such as medical references, eye care organizations and peer-reviewed studies, listed at the end of the page.
- Careful about health. When a feature can have a medical cause, such as a drooping eyelid, the guide says so briefly and suggests seeing a doctor. We don’t give medical advice.
- Reviewed and dated. We use software, including AI writing assistants, to help research and draft. Every guide is edited by a person before it’s published, and health and anatomy claims are checked against the cited sources. Each page shows when it was last updated.
- Body-neutral. Styling advice is about options, not fixing anything. You don’t have to follow any of it.
How the site is funded
The site is free because it shows advertising, served by Google. Advertisers have no say in our tools, results or guides, we don’t accept paid placements or sponsored rankings, and ads never receive your photo or results. There are no affiliate links. The privacy policy explains how ads use cookies and how to opt out.
